Smashbox Makeup Set

Hellooo,

So in one of my blog posts I said about showing my Smashbox makeup that I got for Christmas and seeing as I'm in the mood to blog, I thought I'd show you!

My mum bought be this box from boots for me for Christmas and selected a few products that she thought I'd like.

So the first thing I got was this step-by-step contour kit. I've never had a contour palette before this one, so I wasn't sure how I was going to get on with this but it turns out that I really really like it! So it comes in a little box which inside shows you where all the colours and products are supposed to go on your face which was really helpful as I wouldn't of known what I had to use for it to look right! So it tells you where the shades should be used and how to apply them. I also comes with a small angled brush which isn't awful but I don't tend to use it when contouring as it has quite rough bristles. I normally use the real techniques contour brush or the real techniques expert face brush as I find they work a lot better. So you open up the palette and it has three colours, The contour, the bronze and the highlight. It again has a guide on the mirror inside the palette to help to apply the products which is helpful! Now, I'm really pale, so I was slightly worried that contouring would look to harsh on my skin however the contour shade in this palette is really easy to blend and depends on the amount you apply to your face! The contour shade also has a grey tinge to it which I love because it doesn't look orange on my skin whereas I feel that some shades can look too bronze. The highlight looks really nice on my skin too! The bronzer I find is very pigmented therefore can look a little too harsh on my skin however is again easy to blend and is a really nice colour! Overall, Love this palette!

Next, I got this lipstick which I have already shown you in my lipstick post however I am willing to talk about it again because I love it! I think this lipstick is a spring/summer colour lipstick as it is very bright and very pink! I tend to go for darker shades in autumn/winter. I think pinks are really pretty colours for spring and summer, especially this bright pink! It is called Electric Pink and it is a matte shade which again is always nice for a spring/summer look! Also it being matte means that you can apply gloss over the top to get different effects! Another amazing thing about this lipstick is of course, the packaging! For some reason I love packaging of lipsticks? Is that normal? Anyway, Its really heavy, matte black and metallic grey packaging. I love the fact that its heavy, I think heavy packaging makes makeup easier to apply as its easier to hold. Its also square rather than round which I really like. Overall 10/10 on this Smashbox lipstick.

The last thing I got was this little sample package. I got a small lipgloss and a small primer. I've only used the primer once but I wore it when I had a full day at college and it made my makeup last a lot longer that it usually does. It also really smoothed my skin which made makeup easier to apply too! I also got the small lipgloss which I have recently been using constantly! Its a really nice pinky/reddy colour and it is really pigmented as well as being really glossy which makes my lips look really nice! I love the colour of this gloss as it can be blotted off and worn as a lipstick rather than a lipgloss as the colour is so pigmented. This lipgloss doesn't have a colour or shade and I don't know if its available in full size but this is honestly my favourite lip product at the moment!

So that's all I got in my little box. I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know what you think and leave a comment! Overall I am really happy with all of my products and I am really impressed by Smashbox makeup so far! Thanks for reading!

My Fashion Sense/Style 2014-2015

Hello again!

Okay so, I thought that maybe I should do something a little bit different and do a post of fashion? As I study fashion at college I thought that this could be somewhat helpful or even just interesting. I'm always taking pictures of my outfits in the mirror therefore I have a lot of pictures of different outfits I wear, so I thought I could turn them into a blog post? Whether this is a good idea or not, I have no idea? This may be a long post as I have lots of pictures so feel free to scan through and browse the outfits you like! Hope you like it!

Outfit 1:

So this is my first outfit, This is also one of the first pictures that I took on my IPhone. I used to wear this outfit ALOT last year! Its one of them outfits that's really easy and comfy! These are both the same outfits, just one picture is without the scarf so that you can see the jumper underneath. I also look very young in these photos! Anyway, I am wearing a black jumper which has a white lace collar which I got from Primark, light blue acid wash jeans which are from New Look, a tartan scarf which my Nan bought back for me when she went to Scotland and some zip-up small heeled black boots which are from New Look.

Outfit 2:

I wore this outfit a lot in the summer last year! Again it was a really easy outfit which I thought looks really nice! I am wearing a black and grey star print midi skirt which was from Matalan and a bright coral coloured button up crop top which I got from Internationale.

Outfit 3:

This next outfit is obviously something I'd wear in the summer last year. I am wearing a pale pink/nude coloured chiffon cami top which were very popular last year, this was from Matalan, some high waisted blue acid wash roll-up jean shorts which were from Internationale, my grey/blue transparent jelly shoes which were from Peacocks and a black and gold statement necklace from Store Twenty One.

Outfit 4:

For some reason I put my hair in a middle parting at one point last spring. I am wearing a black, white and grey speckled blazer which I was obsessed with wearing last year! I wore it with every outfit and it was from Asda. I am wearing a baby pink textured 1/3 length sleeve top which I tucked into some plain black high waisted skinny jeans. I also added a gold statement necklace to finish this off! I would of worn this with some chunky heeled black boots or my black jelly shoes! I also wore my round framed sunglasses which I wore every day last year which were from Next!

Outfit 5:

I wore this outfit a lot to college last year in the spring time! Its again one of those easy casual go-to outfits! I am wearing a knitted white jumper which I believe was from somewhere in Debenhams. I wore this with some blue denim jeans and my pale pink t-bar buckled patant chunky sole shoes which I bought from River Island, t-bar shoes were very much on trend last year!

Outfit 6:

This is an awful picture but I loved this outfit last summer/spring! I am wearing a mint green chiffon top which was from New Look, with some blue high waisted skinny jeans which are from Matalan and some nude coloured flat jelly shoes which were my favourite shoes last year!

Outfit 7:

I still love this outfit now! The picture isn't very clear because of the pattern on my trousers but hopefully you get the gist of the outfit! I am wearing my knitted white jumper again which some blue and white tile printed trousers which were from Topshop and I'd usually wear my nude jelly shoes with this! Its a really pretty spring outfit!

Outfit 8:

Please excuse the bra hung on my mirror but I couldn't crop it out of the picture! This is a really easy and comfy day-time outfit which I wore a lot last year! I am wearing a plain white t-shirt crop top which is from New Look, with some black and white checked patterned leggings which have a side zip and these were from Matalan, I normally wore this with my nude jelly shoes again! I used to wear my hair like this a lot to get the majority of it out of my face without having to put all my hair up as I do prefer wearing my hair down.

Outfit 9:

Popular outfit for me as a go-to easy summer outfit! I am wearing a plain black strappy crop top which was from Matalan, with some faded floral printed rolled-up shorts which I got in the kids section in Asda, as I am very petite therefore kids clothes tend to fit me better than women's unfortunately! Again, I'd wear this outfit with nude jelly shoes!

Outfit 10:

This is a plain and simple outfit that I'd wear a lot to college! And again excuse the bra! I am wearing a grey and black speckled jumper which I bought from Internationale and some plain blue denim jeans from New Look!

Outfit 11:

I used to love wearing this outfit last summer! I think I looks really pretty and summery! I am wearing some light blue acid wash jeans from New Look, with a faded pink coloured chiffon cami top from New Look and a blue, white and pink floral printed kimono which again was from New Look! New Look had some really nice summer pieces last year, especially kimonos! I'd wear this with either some plain black leather sandals or my nude jelly shoes AGAIN!

Outfit 12:

I loveee this look for summer! I am wearing some pale blue acid wash jeans from New Look and a bright pink strappy lace crop top which is from Matalan and you can still buy these from Matalan now. I usually wear white converse with this outfit!

Outfit 13:

I wore this outfit to my sister 13th birthday party. I am wearing some light blue acid wash jeans, again the mint green chiffon top and floral kimono. I wore some tan coloured tasselled brogue style shoes with this and my pink flower headband! I think this is a really cool summer look!

Outfit 14:

Back to plain and simple outfits. I am wearing a halter neck style white ribbed crop top which was from River Island last year and some high waisted acid wash jean shorts from Internationale. I'd usually wear this with some black leather sandals.

Outfit 15:

I wore this outfit to go out shopping for the day in the summer! I am wearing a multi-coloured floral crop top with some black skinny jeans, both from Matalan. I also wore a denim jacket with this outfit which I got from New Look and some chunky black heeled caged sandals which I got from New Look last year.

Outfit 16:

I wore this outfit out for my Uncle's birthday meal at a restaurant called Smith n Western. I am wearing some plain blue demin jeans from Matalan, a layered black silk/chiffon top, again from Matalan and a silver and blue statement necklace. I wore chunky black heeled boots from New Look with this outfit!

Outfit 17:

I still love this outfit now! I can't wait to get my summer wardrobe back out! I am wearing my black and white checked printed leggings again in this outfit from Matalan with a bright coral off the shoulder top tucked in which was from River Island, You can still get these tops everywhere! I'd usually wear this with black leather sandals!

Outfit 18:

These next pictures are slightly more recent and I am still wearing these outfits now. I wore this outfit to go to the V&A Museum in London with the college class. I am wearing a polo neck light grey cropped jumper which is from New Look with some high waisted black jeans from Miss Selfridge, some black frilly socks and some t-bar textured chunky buckled heels which are from River Island which I lovee!

Outfit 19:

This is the only picture that I haven't taken myself! I am wearing a blue and red checked double collared dress which is from Asda, with some thick black tights and my t-bar River Island heels again! As you can tell from this picture, I am really small!

Outfit 20:

I wore this outfit to go shopping and out for dinner with one of my old school friends! I love this outfit! I am wearing a plain black, long sleeve collared blouse which is from Asda with some dark blue jeans from Matalan and some chunky block heeled black boots from New Look!

Outfit 21:

This is how I dress mostly at the moment! I am wearing the same outfit as outfit 20 but added my tartan scarf and my long navy blue fur hooded coat which I bought in Dorothy Perkins petite section as they do size 4 and I find it hard to find coats that fit me!

Outfit 22:

In this picture I am waiting for my sister to try on her clothes in the changing rooms but whatever! I am wearing my acid wash jeans from Matalan again, with a simple plain grey jumper from New Look. I then layered up with my faux fur and leather black coat from New Look. I again am wearing my chunky block heel black boots. I accessorised with a pink knitted bow headband from Primark and my mint green Cambridge satchel!

Outfit 23:

This is the outfit that I wore for boxing day this year. I am wearing my light grey polo neck cropped jumper from New Look again with my high waisted black jeans from Miss Selfridge and a fur gilet that I got for Christmas from my mum which is from River Island! I wore this outfit with my t-bar River Island Heels!

Outfit 24:

Really sorry about the mess in the background and my dirty mirror but finally this is the last outfit I have to show you! I am wearing a ribbed black high neck jumper tucked into my dark blue jeans from Matalan and I usually wear this with my Timberlands. I actually wore this today at college!

So finally, I hope you liked this post! I was a little bit different and I didn't plan it at all. I am aware that the pictures are great quality but I thought I show you some of the outfits I wear throughout the year and what my styles sort of like. I've mentioned names of shops in all of these descriptions even though you may not be able to purchase some of these items as sometimes it can give an idea of where to buy certain styles of clothes sometimes so I'm sorry if you've seen something that you liked. I generally shop in New Look the most and I also buy a lot from Matalan as I work there, therefore I get discount on everything! Anyway, I hope you enjoyed reading or browsing through this post and hopefully it's been slightly helpful or interesting or even inspiring! Thank you for reading, let me know what you thought of the post and leave a comment! Speak to you soon!

Favourite Skincare Products

Seeing as I've only done a few posts, I thought I'd do another! There's been some products that I've really liked recently so I thought I'd share them with you! These are all really affordable products that for me, I've really enjoyed!

So as you can see, these are all drugstore/supermarket products.

Starting off with the St. Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub, This is my favourite facial scrub! I bought this in Asda supermarket, It was £3.60 however I think you can get it for cheaper in Superdrug. I use this everyday after taking off my makeup in the shower. This is a thick scrub, deep cleansing formula. It is a blemish control scrub therefore it exfoliates your skin removing dull or dead skin cells that could lead to blackheads. This scrub leaves your skin feeling really clean and smooth making it really healthy looking which is what I love most about this product!

Next is the kind to skin + sun-kissed moisture cream by Simple. This is a moisturiser that slowly develops when applied to the skin giving it a natural looking subtle glow. This is not overly tanning therefore I wouldn't use it as a proper face tan but it does make your skin look healthy and glowing as well as the product being very moisturising.

Another one of my recent favourites in the Freederm Gel, I've had this for a while and haven't properly used it until just recently. I generally have quite clear skin, Its only been recently that I've had a couple of spots or small pimples that I wanted to see if this product would work on them. I found that this product really reduced redness and got rid of the spots after a night of wearing it which I was really impressed by. I think this product was about £4.99 from Superdrug.

This is my all time favourite out of all the products that I'm showing! This is the kind to skin vital vitamin night cream by Simple. This cream restores and replenishes the skin throughout the night leaving your skin moisturised and smooth in the morning. I normally apply this cream after washing and drying my face using the St. Ives facial scrub. This cream is quite thick however absorbs into the skin really easily! I've been using this cream for about a month now and I can really see the difference in my skin and this was also only £3 on offer in Asda. Would definitely recommend using this cream if you have trouble finding one to suit your skin!

My next product is the kind to skin vital vitamin day cream. This cream protects and moisturises the skin throughout the day, as this cream as SPF 15 in it. I haven't used this moisturiser as much as I have the night cream as I don't like wearing moisturiser underneath my foundation as I think I can make your makeup come off quicker. This moisturiser doesn't tend to dry properly so I feel like the foundation becomes quite patchy where it has come off throughout the day. However when I have days where I don't have to wear makeup, I really like to apply this cream. Its a lot lighter than the night cream and has a bit of a whipped texture to it. Again was £3 on offer in Asda so definitely worth buying!

Lastly, This is a product I have been using for about a year now and its one of my absolute favourites! Its the Carmex Moisture Plus, I normally buy this one which is the Carmex Lip Balm Moisture Plus Pink Sheer Tint, I've also had the Carmex Lip Balm Moisture Plus Berry Sheer Tint which is a red colour which I also really liked! As their only sheer tints they don't add too much colour but you can still see the colour of the balm which I really like. These look really nice which natural makeup looks as they are very subtle. There is also a Carmex Lip Balm Moisture Plus Peach Sheer Tint which I haven't tried but I will probably purchase at some point as they are amazing! They really moisturise your lips as well as being able to wear them as a lip tint, It almost feels tingly when you apply it which I really like for some reason. Its also SPF 15 which is always helpful. I bought this lip balm in Superdrug for £4.49 but definitely worth purchasing, I love it!

So they're all my current favourite skincare products! I hope you enjoyed reading it and liked what I thought about the products, Hopefully I've helped in some way too! Again thank you for reading and I'll speak to you soon!
