Favourite Skincare Products

Seeing as I've only done a few posts, I thought I'd do another! There's been some products that I've really liked recently so I thought I'd share them with you! These are all really affordable products that for me, I've really enjoyed!

So as you can see, these are all drugstore/supermarket products.

Starting off with the St. Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub, This is my favourite facial scrub! I bought this in Asda supermarket, It was £3.60 however I think you can get it for cheaper in Superdrug. I use this everyday after taking off my makeup in the shower. This is a thick scrub, deep cleansing formula. It is a blemish control scrub therefore it exfoliates your skin removing dull or dead skin cells that could lead to blackheads. This scrub leaves your skin feeling really clean and smooth making it really healthy looking which is what I love most about this product!

Next is the kind to skin + sun-kissed moisture cream by Simple. This is a moisturiser that slowly develops when applied to the skin giving it a natural looking subtle glow. This is not overly tanning therefore I wouldn't use it as a proper face tan but it does make your skin look healthy and glowing as well as the product being very moisturising.

Another one of my recent favourites in the Freederm Gel, I've had this for a while and haven't properly used it until just recently. I generally have quite clear skin, Its only been recently that I've had a couple of spots or small pimples that I wanted to see if this product would work on them. I found that this product really reduced redness and got rid of the spots after a night of wearing it which I was really impressed by. I think this product was about £4.99 from Superdrug.

This is my all time favourite out of all the products that I'm showing! This is the kind to skin vital vitamin night cream by Simple. This cream restores and replenishes the skin throughout the night leaving your skin moisturised and smooth in the morning. I normally apply this cream after washing and drying my face using the St. Ives facial scrub. This cream is quite thick however absorbs into the skin really easily! I've been using this cream for about a month now and I can really see the difference in my skin and this was also only £3 on offer in Asda. Would definitely recommend using this cream if you have trouble finding one to suit your skin!

My next product is the kind to skin vital vitamin day cream. This cream protects and moisturises the skin throughout the day, as this cream as SPF 15 in it. I haven't used this moisturiser as much as I have the night cream as I don't like wearing moisturiser underneath my foundation as I think I can make your makeup come off quicker. This moisturiser doesn't tend to dry properly so I feel like the foundation becomes quite patchy where it has come off throughout the day. However when I have days where I don't have to wear makeup, I really like to apply this cream. Its a lot lighter than the night cream and has a bit of a whipped texture to it. Again was £3 on offer in Asda so definitely worth buying!

Lastly, This is a product I have been using for about a year now and its one of my absolute favourites! Its the Carmex Moisture Plus, I normally buy this one which is the Carmex Lip Balm Moisture Plus Pink Sheer Tint, I've also had the Carmex Lip Balm Moisture Plus Berry Sheer Tint which is a red colour which I also really liked! As their only sheer tints they don't add too much colour but you can still see the colour of the balm which I really like. These look really nice which natural makeup looks as they are very subtle. There is also a Carmex Lip Balm Moisture Plus Peach Sheer Tint which I haven't tried but I will probably purchase at some point as they are amazing! They really moisturise your lips as well as being able to wear them as a lip tint, It almost feels tingly when you apply it which I really like for some reason. Its also SPF 15 which is always helpful. I bought this lip balm in Superdrug for £4.49 but definitely worth purchasing, I love it!

So they're all my current favourite skincare products! I hope you enjoyed reading it and liked what I thought about the products, Hopefully I've helped in some way too! Again thank you for reading and I'll speak to you soon!

Review: Younique Moonstruck 3D Fibre Lash Mascara

Hello again!

Today I thought I'd do a review post. Last year, around November time I bought the Younique Moonstruck 3D Fibre Lash Mascara Set. For me, I've had lovely outcomes! Hope you enjoy!

It comes packaged up really nicely in this little leather-look hard case. I think is a really good way of looking after and protecting the products, as well as it looking really nice!

This is how the mascaras look inside. There is two small straps on the inside of the case so that the mascaras can be put inside without them slipping around, I think this is really useful and again looks really nice!

So these are the two mascaras. They are both packaged in a metal tubing, I like this because they are heavier therefore I think they are easier to use and also they are always kept cool so they are never too liquidy as I think if mascaras are warm they can be a bit gloopy and harder too apply. The smaller one is the fibres and the bigger one is the gel.

This is the Moonstruck Transplanting Gel. This looks like a normal mascara, It has an average size brush. This is the bigger tube therefore this is obviously the product that would get used up quicker. Its black so if you were to use it just for mascara I think that would work as I think the transplanting gel itself is quite lengthening.

This is the Moonstruck Natural Fibres, This is the one that does all the magic! This is the smaller tube so it lasts quite a long time as the fibres are all condensed into a tube. The fibres look like little pieces of black fluff and look rather strange when you first apply these to your lashes!

How to use the mascaras:

You start by applying your normal every day mascara before using any of the fibre lash mascaras, You also need to wait until the normal mascara is completely dry if you want to get the best results. You can then start with the Younique products. Firstly, apply the transplanting gel all over your lashes then, you lightly brush the fibres onto the lashes, You need to do this quite quickly after applying the transplanting gel as the fibres won't stick when the gel drys. You then reapply the transplanting gel over the top to seal the fibres. You can build this product up as much as you want so that you can get extra long lashes if that's what you prefer. However it doesn't work if you try to apply too much at once otherwise the fibres will start to fall underneath your eyes and won't stick to the lashes therefore the best way to get the best results is to build it up repeating the process until you're happy.

This isn't the best quality picture but this was my result after using this set for the first time. I think that these mascaras can take a while to get used too as your a bit unsure on what your doing when you first use it however you get used to it after a couple of practises. This has also lasted me ages for how much I've used it so is definitely worth the money. I paid £23 for this mascara which could be considered as a lot for just a mascara but is 100% worth the money that I paid and I would happily purchase this over and over again. The 'Before' picture is normally how I'd do my every day mascara. The 'After' picture is after one coat of the Younique mascara, this is without building it up. For me, I think this made a huge difference straight away! My lashes were instantly a lot longer and thicker, almost false lash looking. This picture doesn't do much justice to how they look in person but you may still notice a difference. Overall, I love these mascaras and would definitely recommend it to anyone! It makes mascara so much easier and quicker to apply!

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know if it was useful or if you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for reading!

My Top 6 Favourite Lipsticks

So I love lipsticks and I wear lipstick almost everyday, therefore I thought I would do a post about my top 6 favourite lipsticks that I'd usually wear on a day to day basis! These are all drugstore brands apart from one so hopefully this will be quite helpful for people, like me, who only really use drugstore makeup!

Lipstick 1:

This is a Rimmel London lipstick in the colour 'Rose Sorbet' number 110. This is a shimmery pink coloured lipstick maybe slightly coral coloured, really nice for spring/summer time as it is a super pretty and girly colour! I prefer to wear this lipstick with a more natural makeup look as it is not too pigmented therefore it is quite subtle!

Lipstick 2:

This lipstick has been my all time favourite this winter! The brand is NYC and it is called 'Chocolate Chip' number 444. This was somehow only £1.99 but is amazing! As you may tell by the name, it is a brownish reddy sort of colour. It looks like a dark red when applied on the lips which for me is a really autumn/winter colour! Its not too shiny but its not matte either however it is really moisturising which I love as I tend to have really dry lips. It usually lasts me throughout the whole of my college day without me having to re-apply which is really good! This is the only lipstick I've tried in this brand so I don't know what other colours are like, but I bought this one to test the colour out as I've wanted a colour like this for ages, however didn't want to buy an expensive one straight away as I don't know whether I'd like it or whether it would suit me. Luckily this one seems to be perfect, so for me there is no need to buy a better brand as I'm really happy with this one!

Lipstick 3:

This is another one of the lipsticks that I tend to wear more during the summer time. It is another Rimmel London lipstick and it is called 'In Love With Ginger' which is number 660. The name being quite self-explanatory, you may have guessed that it is a orange colour. This lipstick could pass for being either red or orange when applied, Its a bit of an in-between colour. However I really like this colour as it is really bright so it looks really nice in the summer, maybe even spring if your feeling adventurous! This lipstick also really compliments green or blue eyes and makes them really stand out!

Lipstick 4:

Again another Rimmel London lipstick, One of my favourite brands! This is just a classic red colour, It seems to looks really dark when you look at the actual lipstick however isn't as dark when its on your lips. Its called 'Diva Red' and it is number 500. These lipsticks are moisture renew so they normally last all day as they don't tend to dry up. I think this colour is good all year round as I wear red lipstick in the summer and the winter. I think this shade really suits me too as its not too dark but not too light and it is a blue-toned red lipstick so it tends to make your teeth look whiter which is always good!

Lipstick 5:

This lipstick I bought sometime last year and I haven't seen this lipstick anywhere since so I don't know whether you can still buy it or whether it was a one-off lipstick but this is another one of my favourites! I don't know what the name of this is, It says 'Adobe 1030-37' on the bottom but I'm not sure whether that's the colour and number or not so I'm sorry if this lipstick appeals to you and you wanted to buy it! It is a Sally Hansen lipstick which is not normally a brand that I'd usually buy however I really like this lipstick! It's quite similar to the NYC 'Chocolate Chip' lipstick that I spoke about however it is a bit lighter so it is a bit more red looking than brown. Again its really moisturising, I tend not to buy matte colours as sometimes they make my lips look really chapped. I think this lipstick is perfect for autumn and winter!

Lipstick 6:

Lastly, This is the more high end branded lipstick which I think you could possible be able to buy in boots but not places like superdrug. My mum bought me this lipstick for Christmas as well as some other smashbox products so let me know if your interested in seeing them?! This lipstick is called 'Electric Pink' and it is a matte shade. However this lipstick isn't too dry on the lips so I really like this matte lipstick. I have only worn this a couple of times as it is winter at the moment and I think it would look nicer in the summer as it is a really bright, pretty colour, However I really like how it gives a matte finish as well as being long wearing. Again this lipstick seems to really compliment green eyes which is really nice!

So that's my top 6 favourite lipsticks! I hope this was a good post and has been helpful! Let me know if you would like to see more posts like this as I've only just started this blog so I don't know what will be interesting to see?! Don't forget to comment your thoughts! Thank you so much for reading, I really enjoyed doing this and hopefully I'll post again soon!

Welcome to my blog!

Hello!

My name is Sophie Sadler, I am 17 years old and I have wanted to start a blog for a while now except I've never known how to use blogger so I thought id have another go. I'm not sure how to introduce myself if I'm completely honest?! I'm currently studying fashion at college, this year is my last year at college and then I am thinking about doing a new course as I enjoy my current course however experiencing it has shown me that I wouldn't like to carry on with it at university therefore I am hoping to do a makeup course next year. I am also employed at the moment, I work in a shop called Matalan as a small part-time job along side college to earn abit of money, I have been working there for a year and a couple of months now, However I only work two days a week but as I don't really have any major responsibilities its enough money to treat myself now and again as I am abit of a shopaholic which I guess could be considered both a good and a bad thing. Good as I will hopefully be able to post a lot of shopping pictures however I spend way too much money on clothes and makeup! On that note, I love trying out new products therefore hopefully I'll be able to post many reviews once I get the hang of using blogger as I have no clue what I'm doing haha! I enjoy shopping, going to restaurants, singing, experimenting with makeup, going for long walks, watching movies...and that's all I can think of off the top of my head! I'll let you know if I think of anymore to make me look slightly less boring! I'm not sure what else to say about myself so I hope this is enough to start off with, if anyone is even reading this! Feel free to comment whatever you'd like too and hopefully I'll learn to use this website so that I can start posting!
